Hi, a demo and some pictures of a very nice Hamer Sunburst guitar upgraded with Seymour Duncan SH55 'Seth Lover' pups. If you want more demos and music please subscribe to my channels. The Hamer SCARAB XT Series model (introduced in 2005) uses the radical explorer style Hamer Scarab body design dating back to the mid 1980's. The Scarab XT Series featured a set maple neck and alder body with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays.

They are here to help. I've heard mixed reviews on the import Hamers. I think that's really the case with any import guitars though (in defense of Hamer). I've played some that were nice guitars by any merit and other folks have played the exact same models and gotten ones that had QC issues.

Try before you buy and you'll never go wrong. You'd honestly be better off saving some more money and getting a USA Hamer used - those guitars are still a great value on the used market and if you like the style of Hamer you simply can't do better for the money (I had owned a Special FM a while back that was one of the best guitars I've ever gone through). For around $700 it is not hard to find a Great USA Hamer. WELL worth the wait saving to have one. I really like the Korean made Hamers I own and have owned. I've stuck with the set neck Humbucker style guitars in thier import line.
I owned an import Standard(Explorer) that was freaking cool. Of course, I paid $350 for it loaded with Sperzel tuners and a '59er/JB combo too which made it an amazing guitar for the money. Just moved a Hamer Sunburst model Korean import to a fellow Duncan board member's friend who really liked it. Loaded with a pair of Duncan Distortions. I sold it w/ gigbag for $285 shipped. If the rest of their import line is this good, then they should be moving them like crack in the ghetto. My MIC Hamer Standard was pretty much the best import barring Japanese stuff I've owned. It was pretty much flawless- and I'm a picky SOB.
The nut was cut absolutely perfect, the setup was absolutely perfect, my tuners worked and stayed in tune as good as anything I've owned, the binding was perfect, it played better than any other MIC/MIK guitar I've owned (and I've owned a bunch), the fretwork was brilliant, etc. And I like the ultra flat radius (14.5) with the smaller frets better than the same radius with big frets like the MIA versions. Biggest problem?

Like the MIA counterpart I had, it unfortunately weighed a freaking ton (though it was better balanced than my MIA). I've played a few other MIC hamers (Vectors, doublecuts) as well as MIK and they were all extremely well done too. I loved the beefy neck shape, but the ultra flat radius (14.5') can be tough to get used to. I've a few clips on my soundclick page of the guitar.
